My career has spanned the NHS for 32 yrs, starting in a Nursing career cluminating as a Director of Nursing in 1983. In 1990 I refocussed towards General management, becoming the Business manager for an Orthopaedic Hospital then the General manager for Cardiac services in South Manchester. In 1997 I was invited to become the Commisioning Manager for the then PFI project to build a new hospital in South Manchester.
In 1999 I joined the Nuffield Hospitals as the Operations and Commissioning manager to commission the new Leeds Nuffield hospital which was successfully opened in 2002. In 2004 I joined Catalyst Healthcare as the General Manager for the operational PFI, Calderdale Royal Hospital, part of the Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Trust.
